About
Ward Goes is a graphic designer based in Amsterdam (NL). For both cultural and commercial clients he works on visual identities, publications, campaigns and printed materials, as well as strategy, art-direction, branding, digital content and websites. His work is usually characterized by a colourful and detailed interaction between typography, imagery and graphic elements.
He has worked with a variety of clients, such as Issey Miyake, Design Academy Eindhoven, Random Studio, Onomatopee, Chanel Perfume & Beauty, Fritz-Kola and KRO-NCRV. His work has been exhibited at among others the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Het Nieuwe Instituut and the vanAbbe Museum. Since 2016 Ward is a tutor in design and visual culture in both master and bachelor departments at the Design Academy Eindhoven.
Besides comissioned projects, he also develops his own body of work, often in collaboration with other designers and artists. He makes prints, such as his 2021 series of silkscreens ‘Truth’s Triptych’, but also produces objects, installations and text-based research. These projects explore contemporary visual culture and the aesthetics of news reporting and public debate. In 2022 he bundled these interests and insights in his self-published book ‘In Light of Recent Events’.
